Your Austin FCU Debit and ATM Cards have daily transaction and dollar limits to help protect you from fraud.

All of our MasterCard Debit and ATM cards come with daily transaction and velocity limits to help protect our members from fraud.

  • Transaction limits: Limits on the dollar amount of transactions that your card can be used for in a 24 hour period. For example, if you card has a daily limit of $400, you will not be able to make purchases totalling more than $400 in a 24 hour period. You should've been given paperwork detailing the limits of your card when you received it, but you can always call us at 512.444.6419 to ask for your specific card's limit.
  • Velocity Limits: This is a limit on the # of times you can swipe your card in a 24 hour period. All Austin FCU cards have velocity limits of 10 POS transactions, 5 ATM transactions or 12 aggregate (both POS or ATM combined). For example, if you make 10 $2 purchases in a 24 hour period, your card would be declined on the 11th transaction even though you have not hit your daily dollar limit.

These protections are in place to limit the amount of your funds that could be at risk in the event that your card is compromised. We do understand that sometimes life necessitates higher purchase and/or velocity limits and we are always happy to work with members on temporarily raising limits. Give us a call at 512.444.6419 if you have any questions.

Account Alerts through No-Line Banking can help to keep you aware of transactions that clear your account.

Account Alerts can be used to notify you of transactions that meet certain criteria, such as: above/below a certain dollar amount, with certain merchant names, certain check numbers, etc. They can also be used to notify you when your balance goes above/below a certain amount. They're easy to set-up too!

1. Go to the Austin FCU website and login to your account through No-Line Banking.

2. Click the "Alerts" option in the black bar at the top right hand side of the page.

3. Click the "New Alert" button and follow the prompts to set up your account alerts. Account alerts will be delivered to the email address you have on file with Austin FCU.

If you have any questions, give us a call at 512.444.6419 or 800.950.8143, we’ll be happy to help!

After 24 months of inactivity, your account may be considered dormant and be subject to a $5/month dormant account fee.

There are two tiers of inactive accounts at Austin FCU. "Inactive" means that no transactions have occured on your account in 9 months. If no transactions have occured on your account (or any sub accounts*) in 24 months, your account may be classified as "Dormant".

Dormant accounts are subject to a $5/month fee for the 25th-36th month that they have no activity, at which point the funds in your account are sent to the State of Texas as Unclaimed Property.

In order to avoid this fee, and/or your account being sent to the State, please be sure that you are using your account regularly. We will send you a letter if your account reaches "Dormant" status, but if you are concerned feel free to call us to verify your account status.

*For example, if your account has a Savings and a Checking account, and you regularly use your checking account, your savings account will not be considered dormant and will not be subject to the fee.
